ART OF THE BOOK: ASIAN INFLUENCES
 
MOSAICS BY DAWN MENDELSON
A selection of artists’ books with Asian influences in addition to portfolio, scroll and tunnel books will be on display throughout the Library until the end of April. This display of books is planned to showcase the unique pieces from the Library's special collection of artists’ books.   Several unusual and colorful mosaic pieces by Dawn Mendelson will be on display in the Library’s Lobby area until the end of June. Mendelson specializes in pique assiette (“stolen plate”), using primarily broken and discarded china.

VISIONS OF THE UNIVERSE

Water-themed oil paintings by Soonbae Lee will be displayed in the Local History Museum until the end of June.. Starting on Wednesday May 16, this special traveling exhibit in the Craftsman area of the Library covers a wide range of topics related to the scientific exploration of the universe from storms on the sun to features on the surface of Mars and the Moon, the nature of comets, star birth, and distant galaxies.
