Cerritos Library offers eBooks for All California service

Cerritos Library cardholders can access eBooks for All California, a collection of more than 40,000 eBooks and audiobooks. This free service offers fiction and non-fiction materials for all ages and is made possible by the California State Library.

The collection’s fiction categories include Classics, Comics & Graphic Novels, Historical Fiction, Mystery, Romance and Thriller. Non-fiction categories include Art & Design, Biography & Memoir, Personal Finance & Business, Food & Health, History, Reference & Study Aids and Travel.

The collection can be accessed through the Palace Project app. To access the app, visit the app store (on iOS or Android) and search for The Palace Project. Install and open the app and search for Cerritos Library. You will then need to enter your Cerritos Library card barcode number and PIN. You can then browse all the titles of eBooks or audiobooks in the collection, check out titles, and begin reading or listening.

The Palace App will support the latest version of Android operating systems and the two previous OS versions. Android devices supported include phones and tablets. The Palace App will support the latest version of iOS (on iPhone or iPad) and the two previous iOS versions.

Chromebooks and Fire OS are not supported by the Palace Project app. The devices and operating systems listed below will not work with the Palace app:

• Any Android devices running an operating system older than Android 5.0
• Nook HD/HX+, Nook Tablet, Nook Color
• Older Kindle Fire phones and tablets, Kindle Paperwhite
• Kobo e-readers

eBooks for All California includes the California State Library Palace Marketplace collection, the Palace Bookshelf of open materials and the California Enki BiblioBoard collection. The loan period varies from 21 days to perpetual use. Palace Bookshelf/Feedbooks/Standard Ebooks titles are all simultaneous and perpetual use titles that never need to be returned. The checkout timeframe is displayed in the app on the book details page after the item has been checked out and downloaded (underneath where it says Read and Return). If the title has a set checkout period, the ebook or audiobook will automatically return. Books that have the one user at a time type of licensing model can be reserved if all copies are checked out.
